Keemun black tea is renowned for its unique fragrance, mellow flavour and not to mention the beautiful colour red it produces when brewed. It has floral undertones, with a hit of dried plum and pine. It is widely regarded as one of the best Chinese teas for its quality and depth of flavour.
Keemun black tea is thought to improve alertness, although like many other teas it is naturally low in caffeine. There are also reports to suggest it can have a positive effect on cardiovascular health by lowering cholesterol and reducing blood sugar levels. As a result, black tea is believed to reduce the risk of suffering from stroke or a heart attack, making it a great addition to any daily routine.
Hint: In order to achieve a perfect Keemun tea, pour boiled water over one teaspoon of tea leaves for every cup of tea. Leave for three to five minutes and strain – your tea is now ready to be enjoyed!
