Put your tea service sets to good use this February
If you received tea service sets as a Christmas gift, now is the time to get them out and put them to good use! Let’s face it, it can be all too tempting to serve loose leaf tea in your everyday mugs, but sometimes it is good to make that little extra special effort.
Hold a tea party
One of the best excuses to get out your tea service sets is to invite your family and friends round for a tea party. Years ago, these were quite in fashion but with the hustle and bustle of everyday life, it can be difficult to find the time. Ask your guests what their favourite teas are and buy a variety – you might want to have a mixture of black and green tea as they are often the most popular. However, don’t be afraid to put something a little more unusual to your guests – our blooming teas are great for creating a lasting impression. Alternatively you could ask everyone to bring their own variety of tea and share it among the guests.
Host Afternoon tea
Another dying tradition is afternoon tea, but there’s no reason why you can’t use your tea service sets for this purpose. You will of course need a tea pot and plenty of cups to serve your tea in, but bear in mind that afternoon tea also involves serving cakes and sandwiches. After all, it was traditionally served as a way of bridging the gap between lunch and dinner – don’t go over the top with food, your guests will need just enough to keep the hunger pangs at bay. If you have a cake stand that has been lurking in the back of the kitchen cupboard for years then make sure it has an appearance – presentation is everything!
